Rules of Engagement

  • Visit and pick-up/walking times may vary slightly depending on traffic. In case of major delays, I’ll make sure to inform you promptly
  • All services are available throughout the year and in all types of weather, except if weather conditions are dangerous and put the safety of the pet (and my safety) at risk
  • If, unexpectedly, I fall ill, the Pet the Pet van breaks down or if I have to deal with a veterinary emergency on behalf of a client the service may be cancelled. These are exceptional cases and last-minute cancellations will not be billed to the owner/customer
  • During walks, I use treats to reward good behaviour. Please let me know if your dog suffers from allergies
  • I walk dogs on leash, in urban areas but also in the forest. I find that even well-behaved dogs, if triggered by their natural instincts, may run away. I use various types of long leashes to make sure they still feel a good sense of freedom when doing their walks
  • I reserve the right to refuse taking as clients any pets that show signs of aggression towards other pets and/or humans
  • I am not certified to take as clients, dogs of breeds listed in the Canton de Vaud: Amstaff, Pitbull, Rottweiler or dogs derived from mating with any of the above mentioned breeds
  • I am required to report to the cantonal authorities any case of serious aggression / bite caused or suffered by a dog under my responsibility. This applies to aggressions/bites that have caused an open wound requiring veterinary/doctor intervention. This process will be undertaken together with the owner of the dog that was the victim or the cause of the aggression
  • In case your dog falls ills, I won’t be able to walk him/her until its vet confirms he is ok to do so
  • In the event of an emergency or need for veterinary care during the sitting period, I reserve the right to take the necessary steps to provide first aid and to take the animal immediately to the emergency veterinarian or veterinary clinic for treatment. I will contact the animal’s owner immediately and keep him/her informed of the situation
  • If you need to cancel a visit or walk, please inform me as soon as possible or at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations received within this time will not be charged
